October 21st marks a meaningful moment in our storyâseven incredible years since we opened the doors to our flagship Frannyâs Farmacy location on Merrimon Avenue in Asheville, NC.
What began as a bold, plant-powered vision has grown into a beacon of healing, education, and empowermentâdeeply rooted in the Western North Carolina community.

It hasnât always been smooth sailing. From navigating the early days of hemp legislation to enduring the wrath of Hurricane Helene, which temporarily closed our Merrimon location and displaced members of our team, weâve been tested in more ways than one.
But as we always sayââCome hell or high water, we stick together.â
In the wake of the storm, our team rallied and rebuilt. That chapter of resilience gave rise to our Haywood Road store, Ashevilleâs only outdoor cannabis consumption lounge and a dynamic space for learning, connection, and community.
And our Merrimon store? It returned stronger and more beautiful than everâfeaturing local muralist artwork, interior upgrades, and a robust calendar of events, from sound healing to movie nights and even joint rolling competitions.

This moment wouldnât be complete without celebrating Franny Tacy, our founder and fearless leader. As the first female farmer to legally plant hemp in North Carolina in over 75 years, Franny has redefined what it means to grow a cannabis businessâwith heart, integrity, and unstoppable drive.
