Changing the World, One Fair Trade Franny’s Chocolate at a Time

To raise awareness about the way family farmers and child labor are exploited in chocolate production around the world, Franny’s Farmacy has collaborated with internationally renowned chocolatier Fritz Knipschildt to create premium Fair Trade Chocolate Bon-Bons, infused with organic, full-spectrum CBD, and available only at Franny’s Farmacy.

On a mission to “change the world for the better in everything we do,” Franny Tacy, Founder and CEO of leading natural wellness and CBD company Franny’s Farmacy is now looking to change the world of chocolate.

By introducing Franny’s Bon-Bon Chocolates, premium handcrafted chocolate bon-bons made with fair trade chocolate and organic sugar, and infused with organic, full-spectrum hemp-derived cannabinoids (CBD), in time for Mother’s Day, Franny and her team hope to create awareness about exploitation in the chocolate trade, and how each one of us can make a difference, often simply through the products we choose.

“I dived deep into researching how cocoa is grown and how chocolate is produced when we were thinking about developing chocolate products for Franny’s Farmacy and Franny’s Farm Foods. What I found out about the exploitation of child labor – and in some cases, downright slavery – in cocoa production shocked me, including the fact that many major chocolate brands have been reported to source products from these very same producers in question. I want to change that,” Franny said.

With that intent in mind, it was a meeting of luck and like minds when Franny met world-renowned master chocolatier Fritz Knipschildt – founder of the House of Knipschildt and Fritzzz Chocolates, and famous for creating the “world’s most expensive chocolate truffle.”

Franny happened to be working at the Franny’s Farmacy retail location in Westport, CT, that day (one of a growing number of Franny’s Farmacy locations in the Eastern U.S.), when Fritz came in to purchase some hemp-derived CBD products. When the two got to talking, they realized they could combine their passions to create some of the finest CBD-infused premium fair trade chocolates the world has ever known, and at the same time, help cocoa farmers around the world lift their families out of poverty by working with fair trade cooperatives and producers.

The result? Franny’s Bon-Bon Chocolates are available in gift boxes containing six unique and delicious flavors, including Caramel, Garden Mint, Tangerine and Ancho Chili, Dark Chocolate, Hazelnut, and Elderflower Jam. Each Bon-Bon contains 15 mg of full spectrum CBD extract, or 90 mg of CBD total per gift box.

“I am a big fan of CBD and natural medicine, and have been making CBD-infused chocolates for several years, now. Whatever I do with chocolate is high end and high quality, with a high cocoa percentage. In collaborating with Franny, we are excited to introduce the Franny’s Bon-Bon Chocolates gift box collection,” said Fritz Knipschildt, whose European-style chocolates, sold at specialty stores across the country, are known for their playful flavor combinations.

“In addition, Franny and I are working together to introduce CBD-infused fair trade chocolate bars, which will be just as premium quality and amazing. With the launch of chocolate bars, something people often buy for themselves, they will be able to get the CBD they want in a delicious delivery system they appreciate,” he added.

“We love to collaborate, innovate and share our mission with like-minded entrepreneurs, advocates, partners and customers,” said Franny Tacy. “We are so fortunate to have met Fritz, and even more so to co-create these unique, premium quality, great tasting chocolates. In so doing, we’re offering fair trade products that help educate consumers and let them know their purchases make a difference in supporting more equitable, diverse communities and economies.”

By the way, back to Fritz’s “world’s most expensive chocolate truffle” accolade: At $2,600 per pound, Knipschildt’s signature La Madelaine au Truffle was named the world’s most expensive chocolate in 2015 by Forbes Magazine, who called Knipschildt the “Willy Wonka of Connecticut.”

Just as delicious, but not quite as expensive, at $32 per gift box, Franny’s CBD-infused Bon-Bon Chocolates will evoke the premium, silky-smooth, delicious taste of the finest European chocolates. And consumers can know they are supporting a shift to a greener, more equitable world, one bon-bon at a time.

Franny’s Bon-Bon Chocolates are available in all Franny’s Farmacy locations in five states in the Eastern U.S. They’re also available online to everyone, anytime, everywhere in the U.S. at www.frannysfarmacy.com.
