Franny Tacy TEDx: The Adventures of a Female Hemp Pioneer in North Carolina

Farmer Franny is on a mission to learn and educate about hemp. She is paving the way for hemp farmers in NC and beyond. Listen as Franny details the obstacles she faced growing a crop that is federally illegal. Learn how she has turned this into a positive movement for “Women in Hemp,” hemp growers, artisans’ processors and businesses with aligned “farmer-focused” values.

Franny is an inspiring farmer that rocks the hemp scene in North Carolina. She has degrees and work experience in Forestry, Education, and Pharmaceuticals. Furthermore, she is owner-operator of Franny’s Farm located just outside Asheville city limits. And let’s not forget that she is the first female farmer in North Carolina to plant industrial hemp. Franny has entered the hemp scene with a force behind education and collaboration with growers, processors, product development and “Women in Hemp” non-profit. This Franny Tacy TEDx talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
